As we say goodbye to summer (oh sorrow…only another 9 months until we meet again), I thought I'd share with you the products which saved my skin from some serious tanning damage whilst on holiday!
I finally escaped my day job to take a little sojourn to a coastal part of NSW called Pacific Palms. With its pristine beaches and stunning scenery, the temptation to tan was too great. To prevent some massive damage (which will inevitably lead to one of my biggest fears: premature ageing), I relied on a whole heap of beauty products to protect, nourish and hydrate my skin; the details of which I am now going to share with you!
To shield my face from the harsh rays of the day, I would rise and apply Kosmea's Moisturising Lotion with SPF 30 (RRP$44.95AUD Kosmea). The lotion is non-greasy and offers chemical-free broad spectrum sun protection. It also contains aloe vera, green tea and rosehip extracts to hydrate and fight off damage caused by the sun and nasty pollutants floating in the air.
For the rest of my body, I would rub in a generous amount of Le Tan's Coconut SPF 15 Lotion (RRP$10.99AUD Le Tan) - I am addicted to the scent of coconut - and, for my lips, glide on Maybelline's Baby Lips Lip Balm in Anti-Oxidant Berry flavour with SPF 20 (RRP$3.95AUD Priceline). My issue with this lip balm is, I love the flavour so much, I lick it off - not advisable!
Obviously, there is nothing worse for your glorious tresses than surf, sun and sand, so at the beginning and end of each day I tended to my mane with Acure's Leave-In Conditioner (RRP$16.95AUD Nourished Life). Containing all natural ingredients including magical Morrocan argan oil and argan stem cells, this product is designed to protect hair at the cellular level, strengthening the the root bulb while whilst providing nourishment and shine. Heaven!
At the end of a very long but relaxing day basking in sunshine, I would bathe my skin with Aesop's sweetly scented Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser (RRP$25AUD Aesop), shampoo my hair with Aesop's sulphate-free Colour Protection Shampoo (RRP$29AUD Aesop), condition my hair with evo's Great Hydrater Moisture Mask (RRP$29.95AUD evo hair) (perfect to tame frizz), wash my face with Dr Organic's Rosewater Cleansing Milk (RRP$19.95AUD makeuwell), moisturise with The Body Shop's Coconut Milk Body Lotion (RRP$21.95AUD The Body Shop) (which comes in a handy spray bottle), and, finally, apply Kosmea's Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost (RRP$39.95AUD Kosmea) to my face for hydration and repair whilst sleeping. Radiance 24/7 contains certified organic rose hip, sea buckthorn and pomegranate oils which illuminate skin and smooth surface lines and wrinkles: the ultimate remedy for sunkissed skin.
Now…I think I may need another holiday after reciting the above!
