With a passion for skincare and living holistically, Kosmea Business Manager Olivia Jenkins is a woman devoted to helping others achieve beautiful, clear skin... naturally.
NetStyleShopper talks to Jenkins about the Kosmea range, her newly launched ‘Clear Skin Project’, the meaning of beauty and her personal skincare regime.
Q: Olivia, tell us about yourself and your interests?
A: I’m the General Manager of Kosmea Australia and the founder of the Clear Skin Project. I’m also an Aries and the mother of a two-year-old Samoyed called Sweep.
I am interested in all things wellbeing and health, as well business and management. I love making smoothies and creating new ways to incorporate raw foods into my diet.
Q: Has working with Kosmea ignited a passion for using organic products?
A: It sure has! My mum, Marie Jenkins, is the founder of Kosmea. She has always been an advocate of a healthy and holistic life, and this has definitely rubbed off onto me and my passion for organic and natural products.
Q: What’s your favourite product in the Kosmea range?
A: This is a tough one – I love them all equally! But, if I had to choose one, I would say the Hydrating Rosewater Mist. This product is our alternative to a toner; it is created from 1000 distilled rose petals and smells divine! The mist is multipurpose, as you can use it as a toner, refresher, make-up setter and sometimes even as a stain remover! A hand bag essential!
Q: You’ve now launched your own blog www.oliviajenkins.com.au and the Clear Skin Project. Can you tell us more about this?
A: The Clear Skin Project is a program aimed to help you achieve clear skin for life, the way nature intended, through nutrition and self-love, as well as skincare. I have written my Clear Skin Guidelines based on what I do in my life for clearer and radiant skin.
Q: What motivated you to establish the Clear Skin Project?
A: My motivation was really myself and other young girls suffering with acne. I suffered from bad skin since the tender age of 13 and I was at my wits end to clear it. After all, my mum ran a skincare company! I thought how is this happening to me? But guided by SA Naturopath Tracey Cook I was able to discover the underlying problems and clear my skin for life.
Q: So just what is the secret to achieving clear skin?!
A: You’ll have to check my Clear Skin Project Guidelines and find out ;) I’ll give you one clue though, lots and lots of blueberries!
Q: Can you briefly run through your daily skincare routine with us?
A: It is a very brief routine because, at Kosmea, we believe less is more! In the morning I cleanse my face with Kosmea Clarifying Facial Wash, followed by spraying my face with the Kosmea Hydrating Rosewater Mist, and then finishing off with the Kosmea Radiance 24/7 Youth Boost. I then apply my mineral make-up. In the evening, I repeat the same routine except some nights I will exfoliate using our Daily Facial Exfoliant and, before bed, apply Kosmea Certified Rose Hip Oil.
Q: Is there anything women are doing to their skin which is the ultimate no, no?!
A: Not removing their make-up! I am mortified at how many women do not cleanse their skin daily! It’s truly horrifying!
Q: What’s your best advice for achieving a healthy body and mind?
A: Be happy and live simply.
Q: How do you stay balanced?
A: I am very blessed to be surrounded by likeminded and balanced people who allow me to flourish and keep myself balanced. I practice yoga once a week and I start each day with an affirmation.
Q: What does beauty mean to you?
A: Beauty is a reflection of someone’s internal goodness. The quote ‘the best make-up a girl can wear is her smile’ resounds strongly with me.
Q: Have you been given any sage beauty advice you might be willing to share with our readers?
A: Munch on as many blueberries as you can, always include avocado in your diet, wash your face, don’t smoke and sleep for eight hours per night!
